I have recently noticed it takes 15 to 30 seconds for the oil pressure alarm to turn off when I start. In the past it had turned off within 5 to 10 seconds of start. I note when I restart to return to slip the alarm is turning off in the shorter time akin to what I have experienced for years.
Always change oil on schedule, checked oil level, it is right on, ambient temp about 80 degrees. Engine had not been started for about a month. I am really not too concerned but wondering if anyone else has experienced a changing duration for the alarm turn off?
What I always tell folks is that the first thing to do is put a mechanical gauge on it and see what’s really going on.

You might try changing the oil filter. Some have a non-return valve to keep oil in the galleries in the upper engine when it is stopped. If the valve was stuck open the oil would all drain back to the sump and it would take some time for the pump to re-fill all the galleries and get the preesure up. A blocked filter might also cause these symptoms as would a worn oil pump. As the problem seems to improve when the engine is restarted after a short time, it would seem to indicate a leaking non-return valve is the most likely culprit. A blocked filter or worn pump would be constant in their effect and the symptom would be the same regardless of the interval between starts.
Best wishes,
