Do any of you know the Production runs of Freedom 35, Freedom 32(Mull),
and Freedom 32 (Hoyt)?
Any comments on the the differences between these three boats will be
appreciated.

Dominic,
You’re looking at 3 very different boats.
The 35 is a contemporary Pedrick design. 35 is actually a bit
deceiving. It’s better to consider it a 33 with a swim platform.
It’s different than the Mull designs. Compared to the Mull designs
there is less interior volume due to a narrower waterline beam and
less wetted surface area. From what I’ve heard it’s a great
performing boat but I haven’t had the opportunity to sail one.
Unlike the Mull and Hoyt designs the Pedrick designed Freedoms were
built by Freedom Yachts as opposed to Tillotson Pearson. At least
one 35 owner I’ve spoken with mentioned he felt the TPI boats were
built a bit sturdier. That’s not to say the FYI boats are inferior
since the TPI boats are a bit overbuilt. Many of them came out a bit
heavier than design weight. The Pedrick 35 is a lot more money than
the Mull 30/32 or Hoyt 32 but it’s a much newer boat. The foils are
a more modern design than the other Freedoms so I suspect it’s quite
adept at close quarters maneuvering.
The Mull 32 is a Mull 30 with a scoop added.
The Hoyt design 32 is one of the coolest 32’s ever built. The
interior is quite innovative. It’s more of a real catboat than the
Mull boats. Of all the smaller cat-sloop Freedoms I like the 32 the
best. It makes great use of space and sails very well. Not everyone
likes the interior so you really need to spend some time onboard.
The Mull 30/32 is more contemporary and has a very livable
traditional interior.
They’re all excellent boats and it will boil down to personal
preferences and budget. The Pedrick 35 will probably outperform the
other boats if you favor performance. It is smaller down below than
the Hoyt 32 though.
