I hope someone has done this alreay. I’ve looked through previous
posts and was not able to find the info I was looking for.
What is the measurement from the top of the companion way hatch and the
bottom of the boom? I’m looking to fit “Simple Thoughts” with a bimini
and since she is new to me that is the one dimension I have not had the
opportunity to gather yet.
Info would be appreciated.

Hello Art:
I have just purchased a bimini for my freedom.
Originally I was going to custom make it however after
adding up the cost it was not worth it. So I
purchased it through West Marine. Now the type and
hight depends on the fact and in my case I have full
round life rails around the stern, how you want to
attach the bimini and if you want to go under or in my
case just above the boom. My sugestion is to wait
untill you have assemble the boom and decide then.
Charlie
PS don’t forget that our sponsor has a parts business
maybe he could help you in this purchase.

Charlie,Do you happen to know the model number of the bimini you got from West Marine? I also have full rails around the stern and am considering a bimini. How do you like it, and does it get in the way of sailing?
Thanks,JakeOn 2/25/07, charles dzwonkowski <cskidwain@…> wrote:

Jake the model that I choose is #598799 it is 67 to72
inches wide and 54 inches high. It will be adjusted to
just over the boom about 6" this way the boom swing
will clear the starboard and port sides. I have not
sailed with this set up. There is a Freedom on our
site in the photo section that shows a similar set
up.
