If you look at the back of the stove, it may well have a (metric) barb
hose fitting on the back. I once did a complete installation with a
Plastimo stove and found that I had to grind down the barbs to the
point of smoothness to use standard reinforced LPG hose. Worked fine.
Note that paying to have a stranger swage some nice fittings on the
ends of the hose is no guarantee that it will be any better than a
proper hose-clamped fitting. The pressures, after all, are quite low
downstream of the regulator. And no, I have nothing against the premade
hoses with fittings – they’re are just not “better.”
Do have all your manifold stuff inside the vented LPG locker and don’t
have any T-connections inside the boat. We brought the lines back to
the locker from both the heater and the stove and put a little manifold
there with brass ball valves to control each takeoff. Looked great, and
the surveyors loved it. I put in the remote shutoff and sniffer/alarm.
Having once seen the “morning after” of a gas explosion on a sailboat,
I would agree that you should follow the surveyor’s advice.

Our (new to us) Freedom 35 was outfitted in Europe with a propane
stove with European, metric fittings. When we bought her this winter
the surveyor did not like the multiple junctions that had been created
between the tanks and the stove and recommended that we replace them
with one solid line. Fine, we thought. But now our yard manager says
that he has taken out the old line, put in a new one but cannot find a
part that will join the American line to the European stove. Does
anyone have a source for such a thing? We know nothing about the
mechanics of this so would appreciate any advice and sources/URLs,
etc. Thank you. The boat is in R.I.
