Measure the inside diameter of your stainless tube. Get a short
length of PVC pipe, 1/2 inch larger in diameter than the inside of
your stainless tube. Cut the length of the PVC so that it will be
slightly longer than the stainless tube. Lengthwise, cut a 1/2 inch
strip out of the PVC from one end to the other. Compress the PVC and
slide it into the stainless tube. The PVC will try to expand to its
original diameter, and this should give enough outward pressure to
retain it in the stainless tube. This is the quickest and easiest
way to make a liner for the gunmount tube. Charlie F 21 # 212

J - in lieu of the sleeves, I’ve used plastic strips with adhesive
on the back sold in office supply stores for furniture gliders.
They’re about an inch wide and 4 -6 inches long, and just thick
enough so that three of them can be installed inside the gun mount.
