I just purchased a f24, with a retractable keel, which I have yet to sail. I’ve been watching the postings here for any signs that there are others who own the 24 with whom I can correspond, but I’ve seen none. Is there anyone out there? Norman

I’ve got a 1985 F-21, and am close to buying an F-25. I’ve never heard of an F-24. I correspond (e-mail) with a sailor in Alabama who’s looking for a Freedom of any length with a retractable keel. Good luck. If you want to compare boats, drop me a line at my e-mail address (amcclung@…) and we’ll shoot the breeze. I think the Alabama guy had a retractable keel Freedom at one time. I’ll copy him with this. His name is John Shaw.

I think only a handful of those 24’s were built. It was simply way
too expensive. It’s a great boat, probably one of the best
trailersailors out there. It just never caught on because of the
narrow market for a 24 foot boat that cost 50 or 60K.

I have hull #1 and have corresponded with other owners. Send me your
questions and tell me about your boat. Is it a short or long keel?
Does it have a hinged mast? Etc.

I thought all the F-24’s had a drop keel with bulb. Sure that 24
isn’t a 25?

configurations lifting, fixed shoal(4’9") and fixed deep (6’). We
just bought hull 004 with a fixed 4’9" draft. I don’t know how many
of each were made.

Only a small number made, possibly less than 10 if I recal. I used to
have brochure for that boat but it got lost somewhere.

The F-24 with liftkeel seems like a fantastic boat.
