RE: Sailboat cover F36

I’m interested in obtaining a sailboat cover for a
Freedom 36, I’ve looked on the web and did not find
anything. Does anyone have information on obtaining a
winter boat cover. Thanks

Fairclough sailmakers specializes in winter covers. They are not cheap, and
are canvas and are quite heavy. I am having one made by a local sailmaker
from coated sunbrella -like material for a substantial savings in cost and
weight.

Fairclough Sailmakers, in New Haven CT, 203 787 2322 www.fairclough.com makes a fine cover for any boat.
They are expensive but have a usefull life of many years.
Many of us in this moderate winter environment (southern Connecticut) simply use bubble wrap which is discarded when the snow melts.

We have a Keeble Canvas boat cover . The frame in made of bent electrical metal conduit with deck rubber deck chair protectors. We have just received a new CANVAS tarp , 20’ X 40’ so it does not create condensation inside the boat. See: tarps +.com $ 300. plus $ 60 for shipping to upper N.Y.

I’ve never seen bubble wrap used. Do you just get the large rolls and wrap
the whole boat? Is there any problem with it sticking to the side of the
boat in the spring? Do you overlap to keep the boat dry?

There’s a very reasonable canvas person in the Maine/Boston area who is
going to do a new dodger and bimini for my boat. He did a very nice,
heavy-duty boat cover for one of my liveaboard friends. I’m extremely
pleased with the quality and the price, and if anyone wants the contact
information, contact me off-list at lance_ryley@yahoo dot com.
