Guys, Thanks for the speedy and useful replies. Joe, did you have water
damage to the core around your traveler track? Did you repair it with
epoxy or balsa? Mine has dried, seemingly completely, and I am sorely
tempted to leave it alone.

Hi Peter,
On my F21, the water intrusion in that area
was minimal and I was able to get to good “whatever it is” by
over-boring the holes and then filling with epoxy, then re-drilling for the correct
bolt size. I can’t remember what I found as the core material –
it was 6 years ago.
I don’t think it would have been
balsa since that area must be about 3” or so thick. I’d guess
plywood there – not balsa. But, I’d also have guessed that TP
would have installed the traveler correctly and I’d have been wrong there
too.
