Seismic,
I replaced the reefing lines on Bright Star last year. It somewhat
depends on the arrangement on your isomats. Bright Star’s endcaps
came off with a couple bolts threaded in, but at the gooseneck they
were pop-riveted. You can fish a line through the boom either with a
fishtape, or if you don’t have one, try this. If your other reefing
line is long enough, pull it from the end of the boom until there’s
just a little hanging out at the gooseneck. feed the line you need to
pull back through the end of the boom, then use a bit of tape to
attach it to the second reef line, then slowly pull your second reef
line back through from the gooseneck, and it’ll bring the old line
with it. I had to do that on Glory when I wasn’t careful enough
rigging the reefs. The trick is that once you get it to the
gooseneck, you have to reach up behind the sheaves, free it from the
feeder line, and feed it over the proper sheave and back down.
Patience here helps.
This may not all be clear - it’s really before coffee still. If you
have questions, give me a shout.

As Lance says this method will depend on
the way the reefing lines are rigged. If they go through internal blocks like
mine did original then this will no work. If they go straight through then you’re
in business.
