On the floor sole the center board had water damage due to a leak above it from the opening hatch, the PO apparently turned the board around at some point as both sides had damage, I stripped off the finish using a citrus chemical product, lightly sanding and refinishing it then varnished with some satin varnish. It’s somehow satisfying when finishing up a wood project even as small as this
nicely done. I have two boards with same problem. What brand varnish did you use?
I used Dalys Profin with 4 coats rubbed down with 150/220 then 400 sand paper respectively, letting it dry overnight each time
Nicely Done!
Thanks for sharing your technique. I’m gonna give it a try after it warms up a little here.

Jay, go real easy with the sanding, if you have similar teak and holly veneer that I have it is very thin and you could easily rip through it. when i finished stripping I applied some teak cleaner/brightener and rubbed it lightly with a small bristle brush, let it dry wiped it with some mineral spirits and started the sanding/varnishing process.
Thanks for the sanding advice. That veneer is incredibly thin, especially on the worn edge.
Yep, i have similar damage around a portlight. Going to try this approach.
