Removing numbers

Posted by Allen McClung (amcclung@…>)

Hello Everyone,

I moved my boat from one state to another and need to remove the
numbers and stickers. One of my friends recommended a hairdryer to
loosen the glue on the old numbers. That didn’t work out. Anybody have
a suggestion for removing the old numbers?

We
use Goo-Gone to remove sticker grime from a lot of surfaces. Of course, we’re
usually working on horizontal surfaces.

Goo Gone works well, it’s a citrus based adhesive and latex remover and should not affect your finish. You can also try denatured alcohol.

On thing that I have used is OOPs which is a latex paint remover. It has not had an ill effect on the gelcoat.
