Replacement Hatches

I’m looking for replacement hatches for my 1979 Freedom 40 AC KC.
Has anybody out there replaced their’s?
Any recommendations?

I have an F35 (P) - one of my overhead hatches a badly crazed- I got ahold of Lewmar (my hatches are lewmar) and sent them the hatch “top” for a lens replacement - way way less expensive than replacing the whole hatch. Got it back, looked like new. Putting it back was 10 min. I can’t find my documentation of who talked with, etc.

EDIT - found the docs - I got a hold of Select Plastics LLC

Go to products and services, select hatch repair

Again, they do lens replacement if crazed, broken, etc.

Thanks for the info.
I’m actually looking for complete units as they are leaking.

The site says
“The standard repair includes a new marine grade acrylic lens, a new upper seal, a new lower gasket and new handle seals. All work is in accordance with ABYC and NMMA guidelines and carries the industry leading Select Plastics “No Leak” 18 month warranty. Any additional fabrication such as vents, frame straightening, welding and accessories can also be …”.

Where are they leaking?

So if the base is leaking - should be an easy fix - remove the base screws, carefully pry up the base, completely acetone and scrape and sand the base seal area, re- caulk with sitkaflex, and replace the base, screw down, and clean off the squeezed out sitkaflex……very quick.

I have used select plastics for hatch lens replacement. Very high quality job. Good after 17 years,

Before I had this done I contemplated hatch replacement. After doing a survey of my hatches I concluded replacement would be a huge job. My frames were intact so I did the one via select plastics as noted, inspected the job they did and repaired the other two hatch lenses myself. These ones are about 16 years old and still going strong. Believe me, I have exposed them to some serious water too.

If the hatch frames are serviceable I would pull the lids and either have them done or do them yourself. The only other leaks you will have is through the latch handles on the lids, through the base of the hatch or via a really bad gasket…all of which are straightforward DIY projects and very fixable.
