Next winter I believe I will be replacing the ports on my F33. If anyone
has done this maybe you can answer some questions for me. Is the dog house
cored or solid fibergalss ? I know the cabin top is cored so I am assuming
the sides are as well. Is it easier to open up the existing cutouts or to
add glass and make them smaller?
Currently I am considering the Bomar Passage series hatches to replace the
plastic hatches I have. Has anyone found a metal opening hatch that will
use the existing cut out in the F33? I know there are several good brands
out there so I am looking for the one that will be the easiest to retrofit.
Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Re Hatches, Freedom 33
I replaced all deck hatches on mine, the forward is a Lewmar and the others are Bomar. I find the Lewmar to be an excellent product, while the Bomar hatches are flimsy. It would probably pay to find another hatch, trouble I had was finding something that fit my openings.

The cabin sides on my F33 built in 1982 in Rhode Island are cored.
