Reupholstery recommendations

Posted by ereiss (ereiss@…>)

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced shop to reupholster the
saloon cushions on our Freedom 38? The boat is in RI and we live in
Boston so anyone in the general area would be of interest.

Thanks

They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Ed,S&S Fabrics in Portsmouth is an excellent vendor. They were a supplier to Freedom and Legacy for a time. Ask for Paul DiMartino and tell him that I recommended you talk to him. He made the replacement cushions for my F36 a couple of years ago. I don’t know about the relative pricing but S&S fabrics near
Newport did a great job on new cushions for my F-33.

Personally I’m not a big fan of S&S. From what I’ve seen, they’re
over priced and their quality is variable.

I’ve had great luck with Kinder Industries in Bristol, RI. Their web
site is at http://www.kinder-industries.com/

Now, if you want some really good work at great prices, I can suggest
a place in Deltaville, VA, but it might be hard to get them out to
measure!
