Rope Clutch Handle

Posted by DAVE RODGERS (dav.rodgers@…>)
Has anyone been able to replace their stock Rope Clutch Handle after breaking one? I’ve been trying to source one out to no avail. Freedom Yachts (now known as Legacy Yachts) is working on finding out the manufacturer of the part, I am just curious if others here have gone the same route and already found an exact or suitable replacement.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to provide.

They are now called Easy Lock… and can be bought at
http://www.rigrite.com/Hardware/Rope_Clutches/Easylock_Handles.html
They are better tahn the originals, as they seem to be fiberglas
reinforced, but no longer in green and red… just black.
A word of caution: try not to lose the little circlips that hold the
handles in place! They charge $4. for a unit no bigger than your pinky
nail! I told them they should be complementary! Good Luck

Hi Dave,

I currently have 2 broken levers on the clutches. Since
all I do for a living is fabricate and machine plastics, I plan on making a few
over the winter once I get my boat home and can take the specs off a WHOLE
one. I’m looking into which plastic will be best suited to handle
the task (tensile strength, heat resistance, UV stability etc.) If you
have time on your side I would be more than happy to make some.

Anyone else may take advantage of the offer if they wish. The
more I can make (hopefully on a CNC machine) the lower the nominal cost would
be.

Regards,

Art

I agree rigrite.com I ordered the handles and in two days they were here. I would order at leat a couple of the little hold clips. They are small and easy to loose. — On Thu, 8/28/08, Bob Broder <RABroder@…> wrote:
