Rubber strip for mast ring

Posted by arrancomrades (arrancomrades@…>)

Hello,
I’m trying to source (in UK) some very hard rubber strip (approx 2" x
1" section) which holds the masts of my F35 CK at deck level. I
searched a lot a couple of years ago and have contacted some
companies with no result. Any ideas? (My next try will be to
contact shipyards who build hatch covers and watertight doors for
ships but I would prefer not to bother them when all I need is a
couple of metres.)

I got this from the old message board archives:

was going to do the Spartite thing on my F33,but the fear of drips
and gluing the masts in place made me use a different approach. I
bought 2x3 polyurethane bar, bandsawed wedges from it,and drove them
in. I cut them int 2 inch lenghts, for ease of installation and
removal.I got the bar stock fromPolyurethaane prods corp
(www.polyprod.com).the stuff isnt cheap, but it should last years. The
material is green,durometer A70.
