Peter,
I used an ACE hardware pop-riveter #2013746, ACE Aluminum Rivets
#2014041 (3/16-1/4 Grip), and a box of Craftsman “Back-up Plates”
(1/8"). Drill the old rivet out, place the new rivet in the track,
stack about 4 Back-up Plates on the rivet pin, and pop.
I used the same rivet gun when I replaced the halyard blocks. They
use Stainless rivets, but I just pulled the rubber grip off the
handle and slid a pipe over it.
I did all of this with the mast off the boat (shoal keel, hinged
mast).
BTW: Check your mast gooseneck attachment point. On a power jibe the
boom tries to pull the gooseneck out of the mast. I fixed a couple of
Stainless hose clamps around the mast inside the “c” off the mast
mount. Then taped the with black riggers tape. This takes the load
off the rivets.

Thanks for the tips, I am keel stepped so the backup up washers are a bit of a problem but there is always a solution. Thanks again Peterpeconic212000 <peconic212000@…> wrote:
