Shutters for Beckson Ports - 1984 F-21s

A great way to provide covering for your portlights is to
install “Peak a Booo Privacy Shutters”. These shutters fit inside
portlight openings and one group are sized specifically for Beckson
portlights. Shutters are also available for custom ports / windows.
They are made of durable Lexan. They are incredibly easy to install
(no tools required). The built-in design requires no drilling, and
leaves no shades flapping around when not in use. In addition to 100%
privacy when closed, they prevent heat and UV rays from entering the
boat, keeping the cabin cooler. Light beige color

Go to www.zarcor.com and click on the shutter on top of page – then
click on “more pictures and info” at bottom of page – you will then
see a privacy shutter in a Beckson Portlight. Cost is $29 for
Beckson 4 1/2 x 14 1/2 Portlights.

I have had these shutters on the four 4 ½ x 14 ½ Beckson
portlights on my Freedom 21 for over a year. They are simple and work
great.

Bill,

The shutters fit on the glass (plastic) inside the port (window).

Therefore, they will not prevent water leaking through the seal.

Best way I have found to limit water leaking through the seal is to
make sure the seal is CLEAN. Any dirt etc, will tend to break the
seal and provide a path to let water in.

Otherwise, if the leak is around the frame, you may have to remove
and re-seal the ports.
