Does anyone know where I can get instructions or a manual on using
the spinnaker on my Freedom 30? I have the pole, the bag and the
sail, and a general idea as to how to put it all together to fly the
thing, but I’d like more specific instructions to make sure I don’t
make some grave error.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the spinnaker on your 30 goes up like mine on my F-21, I’ll take some digital pictures for you today when I go over.

Look in the ‘Files’ section of the yahoo group. I posted the manual
for the F-25 and Rick posted a manual for the F-32 (some 30-44 info
too). I believe they both have full factory spinnaker info, including
how to install and operate.

I looked over the files and found the instructions for the F-25. They seem a bit different from my setup – I don’t have the gunmount, and the instructions require setting a running backstay, which I didn’t think was necessary with the F-30. Does anyone have the instructions for the F-30? I have the manual, but it doesn’t have the specifics for my boat. I wish it had the details like in the manuals posted.

Tom:
I have the original F-30 owner’s manual as well and it contains no
information about rigging the spinnaker. In any event, if you don’t
have the gunmount, the instructions would be of little value because
I believe that the gunmount spinnaker was the only one supplied by
Freedom.

Tom,
I didn't get a chance to take any photos, but since you don't have a gunmount, I don't think they would do you much good.

Well, live and learn. The gunmount is part of a reinforced bow
pulpit. I doubt you’ll find anyone who’ll give theirs up, but you
could probably get a welding shop to reinforce yours. I’d be happy
to take digital photos of mine for you.
