I am going up to Hilton Head to look at a Freedom 33’ in early
November. Does anyone know of a good surveyor in that area (or
Savannah) who is well-experienced with Freedoms? I am mainly concerned
with mast conditions as other than that, the boat looks to be in good
condition with a new Yanmar 30’ as well as new hatches and portholes.
Thanks, Peter

We live in Charleston (Freedom 33 hull#58) and have our boat at Cooper
River Marina. We lost our first Freedom 33 last Feb. to a fire. While
looking for a replacement boat we did look at the one in Hilton Head
(online) and e-mailed the owner who seemed very nice. If you want to
stop in Charleston and look at our boat, it is a fixed keel with
standard booms, you are welcome to. The surveyor we used for the first
boat is no longer alive so can’t help you there. Doug Cowden, F33 Hull

I seems that boat has been “almost sold” several times. Please report
back if you have the time.
