TJ- I know it’s been a while since you posted, but I’ve just gotten
back on the board after a long absence. I have used two different
Dickinson heaters and I think they are superior to others. I have a
P12000 in my F36 and it really puts out heat and doesn’t use much
propane. I used a solid fuel Newport in my old boat (charcoal) and
it gave plenty of heat but not with the convenience that the propane
has. The P12000 has a fan which circulates air around the heater and
blows hot air out into the cabin space. The whole thing comes in a
box except for the propane hose which you must size for your needed
length. Installation is very easy- cut a hole for the Charley Noble
(included) hook up the pipe (included- try to keep it full length)
and then bolt the stove onto its stainless steel backing on the
bulkhead (all included except bolts). Hook up the propane and you
are done (oh- small electric line for fan, too!) Really easy- I can
send pictures if you are intereseted or answer other questions. When
I bought it was cheaper from the factory dickinsonmarine.com than
from discount houses. check around. Lenny

Thanks Lenny. I bought a Cozy Cabin as I did not want to put the 3" hole and have the big CN stack.

-where did you mount the heater on the F36? BTW the best prices for
dickinson heaters is www.pricehunter.com. I have no connection with
this company. Just happened to find it.

I recently bought a Dickinson Alaska from Boatownersworld.com for
us$ 495,- Great service from this small Canadian company. I
couldn’t find any lower price than theirs. As far as my research
went, the Tailor’s are just for fun, they are too small to give real
heat, except the big one, the 089, I believe.
I bought the Dickinson also because it has a nice big window through
which you can see the flames. Nice as a fireplace. In stead of the
clumsy, cone shaped, flimsy original Dickinson throughdeck, I bought
a nice flat chromed bronze through deck with cooling ribs from ABI
marine equipment in Santa Rosa CA. Cost me a fortune in shipping,
duties and tax, but it is a real heavy and shiny piece of casting.
And if you don’t use the Dickey, you can close the throughdeck flush
and it looks just like an oversized fuelfiller.

Cheers,
Michel
