Thanks: help: need advice about freedom 45 water heater

hey all,

thanks you to those who responded. my boyfriend was able to fix the
element to use only one prong on the heating element for our long
weekend adventure-so nice to have warm water on a trip:)

i did run around to 10 stores (marine, plumbing, appliance, etc.) in
the area and had no luck. i even got some funny looks from some
store employees when i showed them the element.

we are still looking for a replacement and will keep you posted.

we are in a dilemma. our water heater just went and it looks
like
it is the heating element that went to *&%$. the problem is

there is no info on the maker of the water heater. this is all

know:

9 amps
model #8446
1 KW for 110V AC
SS marine water heater (would this be the maker?)
12 gallons
horizontal outside shape and round on the inside

we are looking to replace the heating element and are having
trouble
finding it. are we better off just replacing the entire water
heater unit?
