Has anyone besides me, noticed that when working on a boat, it is

And whre I am, you’re doing all of that when the ambient temperature is in the
uper 90s F.
It was 105 degrees insode the boat the other day till I opened the hatches and
ports. Then it cooled down to a chilly 94, which was also the outside air
temperature.

And you have to be free of claustrophobia.
Last winter, I spent a few hours locked up inside the cockpit locker.
Fortunately, after an hour of fidgeting to get the lid open, I
realised that I had my mobile with me. But my wife did not have her
mobile with her. Another hour later, I was liberated by a laughing
motorcycle cop. He said he took so long because he thought his
collegues had pulled a joke on him. So the dispatcher waited for me
to call the alarm number for a third time before they sent off
someone to have a look.

Well, aS I get older, I find that I can no longer get into places and positions
that formerly presented no problems. And as you found out, if I do succed in
getting into such situations, sometimes I can’t get out. Sometimes I have to
break things to extricate myself.
Not sure if this is due more to my increased body volume or decreased
flexibility. Probably both.

I suggest we change the spelling of BOAT to “BOATT”!
In outfitting my F33 for cruising, I found that for any major system, like Solar power, Wind power, Dink, Desalinization, Single Sideband radio, Radar, Radar Arch, etc, etc, etc (I always wanted to say that!), I found that the magic number is now, “THREE” THOUSAND dollars! Hence the double “T” at the end:)

Michel,I’d have a nice laugh at your expense if something very similar had not happened to me once. While working as an electrical and electronics tech in South West Florida I entered a chain locker to work on a set of windlass solenoids. I found and corrected the problem quickly but I had had to enter head first curling myself around to get in and feet first was the only way back out! I could do a hand stand in the locker with my feet sticking out but could not get myself further out! Thank heavens for cell phones, but alas I had to call a co-worker and I never did live that one down…

Hey all you guys outfitting for some
serious cruising. I have a never used 18’ Para-Tech Storm anchor (35-48ft
boats) with the shackle…all you need is the rode and small buoy. Para-Tech
price is $969 , West Marine $999, and Landfall $775 with shackle $800. So if
someone offers $675 or something very close I would be willing to part with it.

I think you’ll find that you should refer to three
thousand dollars as 3 Boat Units – you’ll be a lot more comfortable
about maintenance costs that way.
