Two Questions

Posted by Allen McClung (amcclung@…>)

Could someone tell me how much a new spinnaker costs for the F-21?
Also, if you have the size of the spinnaker and the name of a
sailmaker, I’d appreciate it.

Secondly, I have a Harken 365 alum cam-matic reversible frairlead I’d
like to install. However, I don’t know what kind of screws are needed
to attach it to the boat. On the package it says “Fasteners: #10 FH.”
Are these the correct screws? Harken’s website is not easy. I’ve used
what’s known as a barrel screw for my traveler. Any help appreciated.

Hi Allen,
Regarding installing the Harken 365 Carbo-Cam, you can get #10 FH
(flat head) stainless machine steel screws at a marine store like West
Marine. You will have to determine what length you need which depends
on the thickness where you want to install it and what type of nuts you
want to use (ie #10 barrel nuts or nylock nuts. You do not need to use
barrel nuts if they are not in an area where you might hit you head.
With either nuts be sure to use a fender washer under the nuts to
spread the load.

About Spinnakers…

Before you purchase a spinnaker, check with Somserset Sails. I found
their prices to be about half of the better known sailmakers. They use
computerized designs and make nice sails.

Other sailmakers are listed at http://www.freedom21.info.
