utterly baffled by this rig

I attached the boom today. There are two bails on the bottom. I think the
aft-most one is for
the mainsheet. But not sure. No idea what the front one is. Maybe a vang
attachment. Except,
I seem to have a solid vang that attaches to a clevis on the mast and a tang on
the underside
of the boom. Then there’s the matter of the lazy jacks and running backstays.
Which are
which? I could sure use some help; diagrams, descriptions, anything, to rig
this boat. It’s an
F25 and the manual is pretty sketchy.

The forward bail is perhaps to rig a boom preventer.

The running backs will have beefy attachments to the masts, the
lazyjacks probably just a small eyelet with two tiny screws or rivets.
If you use these to rig your backstays, you’d tear the screws out of
the mast. My guess is that the backstay attachments are higher up the
mast than the lazyjack attachments.

Michel,

I think you’re right. The running backstays are heavier and have ropes attached
to them.
The lazy jacks are lighter wire and have blocks. But here’s what’s puzzling.
Each lazy jack
line has two blocks attached, one slilghtly higher than the other. I can’t
figure it out. Also,
does anyone know the dimensions (length and size) of the rigging for the
spinnaker. I’d
like to replace all its lines without having to pull them off and measure. And
one final
question: Do all the F25’s have a solid vang which is attached to the mast by a
clevis pin
and curves back up to the boom where it attaches by a tang?

I think you have a two-step lazyjack system; if you google
with ‘lazyjack’ you’ll get different setup possibilities. Harken,
Barton and other block-and-tackle suppliers have sketches on their
websites.
