Water slapping the aft underbody in the F 35 makes it difficult
to sleep. Aside from moving to the v-berth, has anyone figured
out what to do about this annoying quirk?

Cheap solution: ear plugs
Medium expensive solution: half a bottle of Scotch
Expensive solution: buy a floating cushion especially designed for
this.
Good luck,
Michel

Expensive - $325 or so - but gives you a good idea of how you might
construct one of your own.

Mull F30s have this same slapping…actually…banging problem. And we can all standing just so much banging in one night. So…I thought about this kind of fanny bra but never bought one. I really didn’t like the idea of something scrubbing on my bottom paint day after day. And I didn’t like the idea of dragging lots of poison on the boat when I removed the bra. We chose our anchorages more carefully…and, right to the point…chose our spots in the anchorages with an eye to the reflected waves off of hard sea walls. The closer to the lee wall, the worse the banging. Sleeping forward helps. Ear plugs help…and so does drinking…but ear plugs last longer and lead to sweeter mornings.I would like to believe that Mull and Pedrick made conscious choices. They chose a knots or two at the top end and gave a way peaceful nights in bouncy anchorages (I’d like to believe that because I respect these guys). But I didn’t know I
was making that choice when I bought my F30. Still a great boat…but one of the reasons we moved on.Fargolance_ryley <lance_ryley@…> wrote: http://www.slapsilencer.com/defaultdecb.html?P=home Expensive - $325 or so - but gives you a good idea of how you might construct one of your own. Hi Lance , looks like an interesting product . THough it reminds me of what they temporay fitted on horses in a brainstorm in Central Park , NY NY . Until animal rights groups killed the idea . Thank Goodness. Anyway no longer a freedom owner , but monitor the site. Have a similar prblem with a doulble ended saga i picked up . Except at the its the main cabin that gets the noise , with the aft quiet . Of course you can guess which has all the room . An interesting boat though . Hi Scott , did get the trawler . Its a Saga 27 , double ender . Its been proving a pretty heavy duty little boat . Though its not fast , it rams thru most things . It seems to have a big following in Norway .
