Water tank

Anyone replace a leaking fresh water tank on a

Pedrick 35?

Your post is timely as just yesterday I was talking with Paul Dennis about that. My tank does not leak but does have “slow flow” syndrome. I’ll recheck the psi in my accumulator tank and try and clear any particles by the tanks hose outlet ( tank’s aft lower inboard corner) . But to your question- once the panels are removed to the top of the tank, measurements can be taken. There are several plastic water tank companies out there- a 70-75 gal tank would run around $500-600 probably. Where is your tank leaking and how badly. Paul mentioned that when aluminum corrodes, small aluminum “bb’s” form - do you see those?

Tank is plastic & I haven’t removed any panels yet. I hope it’s the fitting on the tank, most likely, since I checked the pump, hot water heater & all hoses I could see. The filter before the pump was full of gunk

Ok, good one— you’ll need to remove the sole boards next to the bilge to inspect the hose fitting from the tank, the upper fill hose from the deck is accessed by removing the cherry wood cover inside the port cabinet forward of the sink

:+1:t2: Maybe I’ll get to it tomorrow

I have a 35 with plastic tanks. There is a crack on to top which leaks when I fill it. My attempts to patch it have not been entirely successful. It’s on my list to repair or replace at some point.

If its polypropylene only way is weld or mechanical patch it, as adhesives do not bond to it
