whisker pole for jib for F35??

After a month of get acquainted sailing with our new (to us) 1996 F 35 we realize that downwind sailing would be greatly enhanced with a whisker pole. Our jib has been outfitted with genoa tracks and sheets lead aft to two Lewmar winches (we’ll switch to self tacking when we get really old!). So…I want to get my husband one for his birthday. But don’t know what one to get. It will need to be fairly heavy duty, about 6’, nothing flimsy. Has anyone used one of these? Which one? Where did you get it? I can’t ask him for advice as it is supposed to be a surprise. All advice gratefully accepted. Sincerely, Faith www.faithandrewsbedford.com

Faith, The whisker pole you would need depends on the headsail(s) that will be used. An adjustable pole could be used with different headsails depending on wind strength. Certainly it needs to be much longer than 6 feet. Contact a rigger near you. Used poles can be found. Your vessel would also require an attachment point for the inboard end.
