who would be interested in a light, well designed F25 table?

I’m looking into redesigning a new table for the F25/F21. the goal is to make a light well designed table that works well in the cockpit & cabin, and is affordable. how many people out their would be interested in buying one?
I was also hoping to get some feed back from people: via pics, comments, etc
what I’ve heard

  1. impossible to find orig
  2. heavy
  3. hard to use companion way with table in cabin

cheers,
yarrow

When I was shopping for a Freedom 25, I was very interested in trying to find one with the table. What I find now that I have one is that we primarily use our boat for day sailing, and I think a table would get in the way more often than it would prove useful.

thanx for your feedback,
I’m hoping to design a table which is light enough and simple with good design so that it’s easy to store and use when needed.

yarrow

I think storage is the key. I’m willing to bet most F25 owners are primarily day sailors. On the rare occasions I use the table it is mostly in the cockpit.

I got tired of the heavy table always cluttering up my quarter berth, so it now lives in my shed. I would like to see a lightweight, durable table that was designed and came with hardware to allow it to be stored out of the way somewhere on the boat.

to R.Bush,
would u be willing to sell ur F25 table or at least send me some good pics.
cheers,
yarrow

got my f25, and already working on a design. still would like to get a pic of existing table can anyone help?

Here are some pictures of my table. It needs a bit of TLC which I will apply if I ever actually start using it. It is constructed of plywood with a solid wooden leg.

Note the mounting brackets on the back of the table. There should be matching brackets on your companionway stairs, and at the back end of the cockpit.

Awesome,
Can u post pics of it set up, with u holding up side that attaches? Will get scale,

Nice - clean: where did you get the hardware ?

This is the original table that came with the boat. The hardware is all original. It is snowing out now, but the next nice day I am down at the boat I will take a picture of the bits that are attached to the boat.

This must be pretty standard stuff. Surely any big boat supply house or camper trailer supply would have several varieties of table mounting hardware.

Yarrow, here are some pics I took of the table in my previous boat.

I have a table, and have all the concerns other people have had. I have muscular legs, and there isn’t a lot of room between the bench and the bottom of the table for my legs. It would be nice if it was a bit higher. Maybe I could make a new one, or adapt this one. The pins are a bit difficult to insert, so maybe I would create something that snapped in?

Also, there is no place to stow it other than stuffing it into one of the under-cockpit bunks. Same thing for the compantionway door. Very annoying.

Take a look at the Lagun table mount. It is a bracket you mount to the bulkhead or side of the settee and a swiveling arm and another bracket you mount to the bottom of the table. It allows you to swivel the table around and out of the way and you can easily remove the whole thing. I installed one on my last boat and bought a second mount so i could use it in the cockpit. It was probably the best upgrade I did to that boat.
