Anent the Yanmar coolant, when I spoke to a Yanmar service rep,a comment was made regarding coolant types, and a diesel specific coolant was recommended… It has something to do with vibration, cavitation, and other esoterica. I got Caterpillar coolant, already premixed 50/50 with demineralized water. Cat dealers are all over, and being generally non-marine,are not crazy on prices. 2 gals were less than $20

Michel:
The pressure cap is, if I understand it correctly, mounted on the engine, not the expansion tank. I have a regulation Yanmar cap on the engine.

Al,Make sure you use a pressure cap with the same opening pressure setting as the original. Or use the original cap, if it fits. You might risk your hoses.Michel— In freedomyachts2003@yahoogroups.com, “ajlorman” <ajlorman@…> wrote:>> I recently had to replace the leaking coolant overflow tank on my> 2GM20F.
